What To Bring
Here is a packing list of items that should be brought to every campout:
- Scout book
- First aid kit
- Rain gear
- Water bottle
- Mess kit -- should include;
- Plate
- Cup
- Silverware
- Bowl
- Flashlight
- Seasonal Clothing
- Sleeping bag
- Pocketknife*
- Knapsack
- Full class A Uniform
- Pen/pencil/Notebook
- Bug spray (non-aerosol) or lotion
- Sun screen (non-aerosol)
- Toothbrush
- Other personal care items (comb, washcloth, soap, etc.)
The following items are optional. They're nice to have, but by no means necessary.
- Sleeping mat/pad (necessary in cold weather for insulation)
- Camera
- Camp chair
- Gloves **
- Snacks (peanut safe)
- Compass
- Rope
- Hat **
What not to bring:
- Phones (must be left in cars)
- I-pods or other personal electronics
- Sheath knives
- Lighters
- Fireworks, alcohol, drugs, other bad stuff.
* Must have Totin' Chip
** Necessary in cold weather
