What To Bring

Here is a packing list of items that should be brought to every campout:

  • Scout book
  • First aid kit
  • Rain gear
  • Water bottle
  • Mess kit -- should include;
    • Plate
    • Cup
    • Silverware
    • Bowl
  • Flashlight
  • Seasonal Clothing
  • Sleeping bag
  • Pocketknife*
  • Knapsack
  • Full class A Uniform
  • Pen/pencil/Notebook
  • Bug spray (non-aerosol) or lotion
  • Sun screen (non-aerosol)
  • Toothbrush
  • Other personal care items (comb, washcloth, soap, etc.)


The following items are optional. They're nice to have, but by no means necessary.

  • Sleeping mat/pad (necessary in cold weather for insulation)
  • Camera
  • Camp chair
  • Gloves **
  • Snacks (peanut safe)
  • Compass
  • Rope
  • Hat **
What not to bring:
  • Phones (must be left in cars)
  • I-pods or other personal electronics
  • Sheath knives
  • Lighters
  • Fireworks, alcohol, drugs, other bad stuff.

* Must have Totin' Chip
** Necessary in cold weather
